Dept 56

Working On Things Thank you everyone for your input via email and phone calls on ways to develop into a resource for dept 56 lovers as well as a hub that can pass sales on direct to the various dept 56 merchants across the states. We have been very slow in developing things and as you can see reverted to this ugly look in the meantime. No worries though because we will be back to the cozy website appearance we had before – it is just that our web development team feels this generic look is easier to work on as they add features. The most important feature we are working on right now is adding the dept 56 retired list and integrating product codes, issue dates, retired dates as well as photos of each item. This is a labor of love but honestly it will help everyone from the collector to the store owner has a single place to research each piece. Yes you can search the dept 56 company site but there interface is difficult to manage and does not allow for a simple search. You could actully use our site – find what series the piece is in and then go to the official dept 56 site and find the picture – after you learn the series the village etc from our site. Of course the long term goal is to put it all in one place in order to make things simple. For now though we are stuck with the blue generic look until the database people can figure how to link everything. So, thank you for your patience – I promise – we are working on getting this place up and running.
